How did you get into Roller Derby?

I researched ‘roller skating Leicester’ every day for a few years because I really wanted to roller skate like I did when I was younger (artistic skating like they do on ice with fancy leotards)…. I messaged Birmingham around 2009 but decided it was a bit far and couldn’t commit to their crazy practice times and shift work at the time. THEN one day I got a hit on Internet Explorer(!) The next month I went to the first ever Dolly intake in 2010 🙂

What’s your favourite position on track?

Jammer. But I like blocking.

What’s your signature move?

If I’m blocking, I’m like that annoying person that you just can’t get rid off, sneaking in from behind and doing funny spins to mess it up and cause confusion! If I’m jamming I like to do matrix slo-mo inspired skating moves. You need to be there to understand!

What are you personally working on improving at the moment?

My core to keep me grounded My strength to un-ground others 😉

What do you like to do to keep fit when you’re not doing Derby?

SKATE PARKS – I’m chapter manager for the new craze Chicks in Bowls.

I like to do yoga wherever.

I also do lots of long country walks and random you tube fitness vids when I feel like it.

What do you do for fun?

SKATE PARKS I’m teaching myself to skateboard and I’m a novice on my quads.

I really love the whole of Netflix at the moment. Stop being dirty – there’s no chill involved 😉

Is there anyone who has inspired you recently and why?

Lady Trample – founder of Chicks in Bowls. If you don’t know check it out. She’s made a lot of females (and men) overcome their fears of going to skateparks and having s fun time. Don’t know why we didn’t do it in the first place. Plus she’s a wicked skater…

And… Candice Heiden cuz she’s in all the music videos you ever saw recently with skaters tearing it up!

RANDOM QUESTION: If you were to be in any reality tv show which one would you go on?

I would want to be on ‘The Island’ or ‘Shipwrecked’. I think it would be really fun to live island life and I would totally win!
